Ford’s Colony’s status as a premier golf-course community was on display again recently when it hosted a qualifying tournament for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

When it was over, the third-youngest player to ever qualify for the women’s amateur – 11-year-old Gianna Clemente -- was among three women to make the field for the Aug. 5 event to be held in Mississippi.

Clemente is from Warren, Ohio. The other players to qualify also came from out of town, Ohio State's Aneka Seumanutafa and University of Wisconsin golfer Tracy Lee.

The qualifying event received plenty of national coverage, including in USA Today, CBS Sports and Golf Digest.

Ford's Colony boasts three championship golf courses -- Blue Heron, Marsh Hawk and Blackheath -- that offer golfers of any age and ability a first-class experience.
