Spotlight On: Custom Home Builder in Williamsburg, Virginia

by Deelyn Neilson

Are you contemplating building the home of your dreams, but you just do not know how to get started?  This could be the single biggest and most important investment you make in your entire life.  Choosing a realtor is crucial when looking to buy or sell a home.  Similarly, when building your home, it is imperative that you do your research and choose the right builder for you.

As a realtor, it is my job to know the housing market, inside and out. It would be very difficult to estimate the number of homes I have toured, staged, listed, and sold throughout my real estate career.

One thing I have noticed, is that I have been very impressed with the work of Beverly Olsen, Master Builder here in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Beverly is a third generation builder, who is carrying on the family business which dates back to her grandfather, Anders Arthur Olsen, who worked on the restoration of the Nathan Hale Homestead Historical Site in Coventry, Connecticut.

In addition to the training and expertise she absorbed being a part of a building family, Beverly also is a graduate of the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Connecticut.  She also enjoyed a successful career as a manger in research and development for IBM.  In 1985, she formed Olsen Construction and Engineering.  This company prides itself in the quality of work and craftmanship of design.

If you would like to schedule a meeting with Beverly, or see some of her masterpieces in person, you can call her at 757-784-0794, or email at: [email protected].

This Saturday, April 2nd, marks the official start of the Williamsburg Farmer's Market located in Merchants Square on Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg!  The market runs every Saturday through October 29th.

From 8am - 12 noon come out and enjoy some of the freshest, finest produce in the area!  There is also a great variety of shrubs, plants, and flowers from which to choose!  With over 30 vendors, you are sure to find something to enjoy!

Do you have a friendly pooch? Bring him/her along too - this seems to be a fun social playdate for the dogs as well!

The weather looks like it could be an issue - so pack your umbrella and jacket...rain showers are likely in the morning!
