Deelyn,
My husband and I want to retire in Williamsburg, VA . We'd like to live in a community with waterfront living, but still convenient to town and Colonial Williamsburg. We're looking for a home where we can dock our boat with access to large lake or river. Can you recommend an area or neighborhood to us?
Thanks,
Gail G.
Dear Gail,
Williamsburg is the perfect place to retire if you love waterfront living! With the York, James, and Chickahominy Rivers surrounding the city, there is plenty of shoreline. There are several different communities that offer everything from a boat slip to full service marinas! Here are links to my community pages that offer more information about all of these waterfront communities. On each page, you'll find a link to available homes for sale in these waterfront community. Browse homes at your leisure, or give me a call and let me do all the work for you!
First Colony: This well established neighborhood offers a marina and gorgeous views of the James River. With fewer than 300 homes and low home owner's association fees, this is a highly sought after community.
Governor's Land: Situated on the neck between the James and Chickahominy River, this gated community has access to both rivers. Also features a luxury clubhouse and championship golf course.
Kingsmill: Located on the southern side of Williamsburg, VA, Kingsmill is a world class gated community with resort. It offers a full service marina with boat slips and boat rentals.
Landfall at Jamestown: A small community of only 90 homes, the community dock offers access to the James River with low home owner's fees!
Queens Lake: A natural gem, the beautiful area of Queens Lake is surrounded by the Colonial Parkway and miles of wooded country. The Queens Lake community has access to Queens Lake, Queens Creek and Princess Pond. Low home owner's fees and proximity to New Quarter Park--an exceptional York County area for outdoor recreation--make this a popular community.
River's Bend at Uncle's Neck: A new waterfront community located just north of Williamsburg, several waterfront lots are available for your choosing. This is your chance to build the home you've always wanted!
Please contact me and together we'll find the perfect waterfront home for your retirement in Williamsburg, VA!
