History: ​The developer of Governor's Land, Dominion Resources, took great care to discover any historical significance of the area before building took place. An archeological dig was commissioned, unearthing a Paspahegh Indian burial ground at what is now the site of the 18th hole. A ceremony was held in 1993 to reinter the remains of 18 Indians at a new location in the community.
